Increasing Your Capacity for Life
This isn't just the work I do. It's the way I choose to live.
For much of my career, I believed my purpose was to help people heal.
Over time, through my own lived experiences and more than 35 years of walking alongside individuals, couples, and families who sought out help for themselves, I came to understand something much deeper - our journey is that of evolution - and that healing is not linear.
From the moment we enter this world, we begin developing strategies to get our needs met.
Without words or conscious thought, we learn.
If I cry, will someone come?
If I am quiet, will I be safer?
If I achieve, will I earn love?
If I take care of everyone else, will I belong?
These strategies are the genius of being human. Each one reflects our remarkable ability to navigate life with the awareness, experiences, and resources we built and created at the time.
The challenge now is that many of us continue relying on the strategies created by a younger version of ourselves to navigate relationships, school, family, career, losses, and the challenges of adulting..
My work isn't about taking those strategies away. It's about helping you understand them with curiosity instead of judgment, appreciate how they have served you, and discover new ways of responding to life that create greater peace, freedom, connection, and choice.
That is what I mean by increasing your capacity for life.
Creating a more expansive nervous system for, what we humans call “stress.”
My Journey
This philosophy didn't come from a textbook, It grew from my lived experience and the honor of witnessing thousands of humans intimately..
Like many of us, I have experienced seasons of abuse, addiction, grief, loss, divorce, uncertainty, reinvention, and learning to begin again. The same principles I share with my clients are the principles I continue to practice each day. They have expanded my own capacity to listen fully, love deeply, to grieve over and over, to set healthy boundaries, to remain present during difficult conversations, to speak up honestly even when it’s hard, and to embrace life's continual invitations to grow.
I don't ask my clients to walk a path I haven't been willing to walk myself.
I continue to learn, and I continue to grow right alongside you. I have been both student and teacher in this career that found me..
How I Work
(which never feels like work)Every human who walks through my door has a unique story.
I am fascinated by humans and I become curious about the strategies you've developed to be at where you are at currently.
Together, we'll explore your stories with compassion, strengthen your capacity to meet life's challenges, and help you reconnect with the wisdom, resilience, and authenticity that have always lived within you.
This work blends practical psychology, nervous system awareness, relationship guidance, ancestral wisdom, somatic practices, spiritual exploration, and intuitive insight. No two sessions are exactly alike because no two people are exactly alike.
The Invitation
I don't believe life is about avoiding pain. It didn’t work for me to avoid it or self medicate it constantly. And, yet, those strategies assist us when our pain becomes too much. It’s human nature to avoid pain and seek relief.
The work now is about expanding our capacity to feel the discomfort, create a brave space to process it together, and then celebrate every small victory.
That is the work I continue to do in my own life - to be in full acceptance of all my light, and all my shadow. And to be of good character and to do no harm to myself or others.
If you're ready to understand the strategies that brought you here and discover new ways of meeting the life that's calling you forward, I would be honored to walk beside you.
