Prayer as Protest: Holding Sacred Space in Times of Injustice
Hello beloved souls,
I’ve been in deep prayer these last few days. As you are aware, ICE raids are tearing through our communities, separating families, spreading fear, and reminding us, yet again, of the violence built into our colonial systems.
And as protests rise up in resistance, demanding humanity, justice, and care, the government’s response has been chilling.
I keep thinking: What can I do to affect change? How do I keep my heart open when this is so heartbreaking?
Right now, it feels like the soul of LA is trembling, crying out through the voices of those marching in the streets, whispering through the fear in the eyes of immigrant neighbors, and humming in the prayers of those holding vigil.
Please remember, you are not alone.
Quantum Physics tells us energy is real and felt by us all. They want to instill fear to make us feel afraid, powerless, and hopeless because in these states, our frequency is low, and this is exactly where they want us to be. Because in this state, we constrict and become easily influenced.
Now, more than ever, we need prayer.
Prayer is a personal ritual, a sacred pause—meditation, affirmative thought, breathing, journaling, intention-setting—a practice of awareness, not worship.
“With every prayer, action. With every action, prayer.”
Protest can be a ceremonial space you create—not just cries of protest, but resonances of care—for those who cannot speak, those forgotten or unheard, those whose grief is buried in silence, and all who tremble at the edge of trust, longing for a world that remembers.
I promise that this peaceful energy you create and claim for yourself will vibrate out to those around you and into the collective that needs you! This can be your contribution.
In times like this, we are called upon to regulate our own nervous systems to keep our strength up so we can support our community with love, compassion, and empathy.
Our pain alchemizes into power!
So keep praying. Keep doing your soul work. Keep becoming what our ancestors are praying for.
If you need support, we are here to listen. To hold space. To cry. To scream. To feel the grief.
In solidarity and sacred prayer,
Jules Andersen and The Soul Vision Team
